Olive Garden-Inspired Tiramisu
Custard Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
Espresso Soak Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups hot water
- 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons espresso powder
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
Other:
- 18-22 ladyfingers
- Sweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions:
- Mascarpone Custard:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- In a different bowl, whip the heavy cream until you achieve stiff peaks. Carefully fold this whipped cream into the egg yolk mixture.
- Add the mascarpone cheese to the combined mixture, folding gently until the custard is smooth. Be cautious to not overmix.
- Espresso Soak:
- Dissolve espresso powder in hot water and let the mixture cool down. If using, stir in the coffee liqueur into the cooled espresso mixture in a shallow dish suitable for dipping.
- Assembling the Tiramisu:
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso soak, ensuring not to oversoak; just a quick dip is all that’s needed.
- Arrange a single layer of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish or a similarly sized serving container.
- Layer another set of dipped ladyfingers on top of the first layer. Spread the prepared mascarpone custard over this second layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it into an even layer.
- Chill and Serve:
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or for optimal results, leave it overnight.
- Just before serving, generously dust the top with sweetened cocoa powder.
Enjoy this decadent Olive Garden-inspired tiramisu, a perfect blend of creamy mascarpone, robust espresso, and delicate ladyfingers, all topped with a dusting of cocoa.
