Olive Garden-Inspired Tiramisu

Olive Garden-Inspired Tiramisu

Custard Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

Espresso Soak Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups hot water
  • 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons espresso powder
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)

Other:

  • 18-22 ladyfingers
  • Sweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Mascarpone Custard:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
    • In a different bowl, whip the heavy cream until you achieve stiff peaks. Carefully fold this whipped cream into the egg yolk mixture.
    • Add the mascarpone cheese to the combined mixture, folding gently until the custard is smooth. Be cautious to not overmix.
  2. Espresso Soak:
    • Dissolve espresso powder in hot water and let the mixture cool down. If using, stir in the coffee liqueur into the cooled espresso mixture in a shallow dish suitable for dipping.
  3. Assembling the Tiramisu:
    • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso soak, ensuring not to oversoak; just a quick dip is all that’s needed.
    • Arrange a single layer of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish or a similarly sized serving container.
    • Layer another set of dipped ladyfingers on top of the first layer. Spread the prepared mascarpone custard over this second layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it into an even layer.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or for optimal results, leave it overnight.
    • Just before serving, generously dust the top with sweetened cocoa powder.

Enjoy this decadent Olive Garden-inspired tiramisu, a perfect blend of creamy mascarpone, robust espresso, and delicate ladyfingers, all topped with a dusting of cocoa.
