Steak Fajitas Recipe

Steak Fajitas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
  • 4 tablespoons fajita seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large red onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings:

  • Flour tortillas
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Steak: Take the flank steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you plan to grill it. Rub the fajita seasoning generously over both sides of the steak, then let it rest to come to room temperature.
  2. Grill the Steak: Preheat your grill to 450°F. Grill the steak for 4-6 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes off the grill, then slice it against the grain into thin strips.
  3. Preheat Fajita Skillets: Meanwhile, set your oven to 400°F and place cast iron fajita skillets inside to heat for at least 20 minutes. This step ensures your fajitas will sizzle impressively when served.
  4. Sauté Vegetables: While the skillets are heating, add olive oil to a skillet over medium heat on the stove. Thinly slice the red onion and bell peppers, then sauté them in the hot oil until they’re tender yet crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Assemble Fajitas: Carefully remove the hot fajita skillets from the oven. Arrange the sliced steak and sautéed peppers and onions on the skillets; they should sizzle upon contact.
  6. Serve: Offer warm flour tortillas and your chosen toppings alongside the sizzling fajitas. Let everyone build their own fajita wraps to their liking.

Enjoy your homemade steak fajitas with a side of guacamole, sour cream, and shredded cheese for a flavorful, satisfying meal.
