Homemade Beef and Pasta Skillet

Homemade Beef and Pasta Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces medium-sized pasta (such as shells or large elbows)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring and breaking it apart with a spoon, until it’s fully browned and no pink remains. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. To the skillet, add 1 3/4 cups of the beef broth (reserving 1/4 cup for later if needed), milk, tomato sauce, onion powder, chili powder, and salt. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Stir in the pasta, then cover the skillet. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. Afterward, remove the cover and continue cooking for an additional 2 to 4 minutes, or until the pasta is tender. If the mixture seems too dry, add the reserved beef broth as needed.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and let it sit uncovered for 5 minutes to thicken. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s completely melted and the mixture is creamy.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Serve this hearty and comforting skillet meal straight from the stove for a satisfying dinner that’s sure to please.
