Monster Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature, 1 stick)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup M&Ms (plus extra for pressing on top, optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for pressing on top, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
- Cream the Wet Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and egg, and beat again until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry:
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, either on low speed or by hand, until just combined.
- Stir in the oats, M&Ms, and chocolate chips by hand until evenly distributed.
- Form the Cookies:
- Use a cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to form dough balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- If desired, press extra M&Ms and chocolate chips onto the tops of the cookie dough balls for added decoration.
- Bake:
- Bake the cookies for 13-15 minutes, or until the edges just start to turn golden. For softer cookies, remove them from the oven at 12-13 minutes when they still look slightly undercooked; they will continue to cook as they cool.
- Cool:
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5-7 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy your chewy and colorful monster cookies, loaded with M&Ms and chocolate chips!
