Fish Cakes Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound (500g) white fish fillets, skinless and boneless
- 2 medium russet potatoes, peeled and shredded
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (130g) breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (40g) chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup (8g) minced fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the Fish and Potatoes:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shredded potatoes and fish fillets, cooking for about 10 minutes. Be gentle to avoid breaking up the fish too much.
- Combine the Ingredients:
- In a medium-sized bowl, carefully combine the cooked fish and potatoes with the minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, green onions, and parsley. Mix gently to maintain the fish’s texture.
- Form the Patties:
- Shape the mixture into 8 patties, being careful not to compress them too much.
- Fry the Fish Cakes:
- Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium to medium-low heat. Gently place the patties in the skillet and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Once golden and crisp, remove the fish cakes from the skillet and serve warm. Enjoy!
