Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup diced yellow onions
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups milk
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 10 oz broccoli florets, chopped
- 3 cups shredded triple cheddar cheese blend
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions and cook until they become translucent.
- Stir in the flour and cook the mixture for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until a thick mixture forms.
- Add the milk and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chopped broccoli florets and stir to combine.
- Let the soup simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
