Peanut Butter and Cheerios Treat Bars
Pan Size: 8×8 inches
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Cheerios cereal
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract (if using) in a glass mixing bowl. Microwave the mixture for 1 minute.
- Whisk the ingredients together until they’re fully blended. Add the Cheerios to the bowl, and stir until each piece is evenly coated with the peanut butter and honey mixture.
- Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper for easy removal. Transfer the Cheerios mixture to the pan. Use a spatula or your hands to firmly press the mixture into an even layer.
- Refrigerate the pressed mixture for 1-2 hours, or until it has set firmly. This chilling time ensures the bars will hold their shape and can be cut cleanly.
- Once set, remove the slab from the pan and slice it into 9 equal squares. For smaller portions, consider cutting the squares in half to create triangles or into smaller squares, ideal for young children or for serving on a dessert tray.
Storage Notes:
- Keep the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer freshness, store them in the refrigerator, where they’ll keep for up to two weeks.
- These bars can also be frozen for up to 3 months. For best results, wrap each bar individually before freezing to preserve their texture and taste.
Enjoy these simple, no-bake Peanut Butter and Cheerios Treat Bars as a delightful snack or dessert
