Cheeseburger Egg Rolls with Special Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
Egg Rolls:
- 2 pounds ground sirloin (91/9 blend recommended)
- 4 teaspoons finely diced onion
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 24 egg roll wrappers
- 24 slices of American cheese
- 1 cup finely chopped dill pickles
- Olive oil spray or avocado spray for cooking
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds for garnish
Special Dipping Sauce:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
For the Egg Rolls:
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground sirloin and diced onion, seasoning with salt and pepper. Continue to cook until the beef is thoroughly browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Season the Beef: Stir in yellow mustard, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce into the cooked beef. Combine well, then set aside to cool for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Wrappers: On a clean surface, arrange an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Keep a small bowl of water close by for sealing the wrappers.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls: Place a slice of American cheese in the center of the wrapper. Add about 2 tablespoons of the seasoned beef mixture and a sprinkle of chopped dill pickles on top.
- Roll and Seal: Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, then tuck in the sides and roll tightly. Ensure the seam is on the bottom to keep it sealed.
- Cook the Egg Rolls: In an air fryer basket, arrange 4-5 egg rolls at a time, avoiding overcrowding. Spray lightly with avocado or olive oil. Air fry at 390°F for 6 minutes, then flip the egg rolls, spray again, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Continue to air fry for another 4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
For the Special Dipping Sauce:
- Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and paprika until smooth and well blended.
Serve these cheeseburger egg rolls hot, garnished with sesame seeds, alongside the special dipping sauce for a delicious twist on classic flavors. Enjoy as a snack, appetizer, or a fun meal!
